I have never publicly shared the story behind this painting.
When I painted this, I had many painful things going on, the worst was the passing of one of my best friends to leukemia. A couple of months after, I sat down, I just wanted to smell the paint, like an old friend. As I released so much grief with my brushes, I wept.
It is the only thing I painted in 2010.
